Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site my website collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please be aware that you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

My website uses “cookies”, which are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. Some of the cookies are necessary for the functioning of the website itself, and the others are optional, which is why I will provide you with a possibility to opt from them out.

Please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This way I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments. Please note that I use pre-moderation for the comments to avoid spam. Any comment that I receive needs my pre-approval to be displayed on the website.
When you are subscribing to the website, I ask you to fill in the form with your name and e-mail address. I store that information on my website for an indefinite period of time or until the moment you request me to erase your data.
What rights you have over your data
If you have subscribed to this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
